• It felt gentle on the skin, although I did not used it for my face I have a belief that only facial wash can be used on the face and that never used your bar of soap for your face.

CONCERNS:

• I already have a light skin, so I really cannot tell if its effective in intensive whitening and two weeks maybe is not enough to tell but I did not see any difference and to reveal a brighter skin.

When I first saw Nivea’s new product, the In – Shower body lotion, I was truly intrigued. A body lotion to be used while in shower??. I didn’t know how it would work out. But still being the ever curious person that I am, I bought it.

There are two types of Nivea In Shower Body Lotion. One is for Normal skin with Sea Minerals and the other one is for Dry skin with Almond Oil. There was an introductory 20% off when it was launched. That and the fact that I have Normal to Dry skin made me buy both of the options :). I already covered that in my collective haul post in Dec ’13.

So I have been using it for three months now. So here is a review of it:

The plastic squeeze bottle has the lid at the bottom, like most of the conditioners now, which makes it easier to dispense the product while in shower. The one for Normal skin comes in a white bottle while the one for Dry skin comes in a blue bottle.

This product claims to leave you with soft skin and no stickiness. I felt that, that would be a tough thing to pull off for a product like this but seriously, it does deliver!. Here are the steps on how to use it:

• WASH your body with your regular soap/shower gel and rinse off
• Apply the In Shower body lotion directly on your wet skin while still in the shower
• Rinse off… no need to wait!
• Dry yourself with a towel and get dressed immediately

Look how easy it is!. This lotion is white in color. It’s thick and creamy in consistency. But once you spread it onto your wet skin, it just melts into your skin!. The smell of the lotion in the Blue bottle is very much like classic Nivea. The one in the White bottle has a slightly different smell, reminiscent of the sea, probably because of the sea minerals in it, but it doesn’t have an underlying scent of Nivea.

I take a generous amount of it (pictured above) and slather it onto my body. The amount shown is about three squeezes and I apply that to my upper body. Once I have done working it into my skin, I take an equal amount for my lower body.

This product gets activated when in comes in contact with water and thus aids in it’s absorption. That’s why it is effective even though you immediately rinse it off. You might think it’s a waste to just rinse it off, but it really isn’t!. It works.

My skin feels so soft and moisturized. There is no sticky or greasy feeling left on the body!. Once I towel dry, my skin looks hydrated. If you have really dry skin, you might want to apply a regular lotion after you step out of the shower (particularly during winter). However, I didn’t find the need for that.

My favorite one is the one for Dry Skin. I felt it moisturizes my skin more. So once I am done with the White bottle, which I am using now, I wont buy that one again. I will continue buying the blue bottle because that suits my skin more.

This lotion comes in 2 sizes. One is 250ml and the other is 400ml. The 250ml bottle costs AED13.90 and the 400ml one costs AED19.25. I bought the 400ml ones in December for AED12.50 each!. Here is the size difference between the two bottles :

The 400 ml bottle is pretty bulky to say the truth. The 250 ml bottle is just perfect to hold. I am 3/4th the way into my white bottle now and as it’s coming to an end, it feels a bit tough to squeeze the product out. That’s one negative I found. Oh I got to mention that even though you are handling the bottle with wet hands, it never slips off your hand!. Also, even though it is non-greasy on my body, probably because I squeeze a lot of it onto my palm and work it on my skin with it, I always feel like there is some more to wash off from my palm. So, once I am done, I wash my hands with a hand wash.

I do make sure I haven’t dropped the lotion on the floor because you can end up slipping on it. So when you use it, take care that you don’t leave any residue on the wet floor.

I gave a sample of this product to my New Year Giveaway Winner, Maricar and she really loved it. She actually went out and bought both of the types!. All in all, this is a genius and unique product by Nivea. I just love it!. I will continue buying it. I highly recommend you try it out.

Nippon Esthetic Makeup Remover Lotion Review

I really like that Nippon Esthetic Solutions Makeup Remover Lotion is gentle; skin feels soft and moisturized right after using.

What they claim:

"For total makeup removal while retaining skin's smooth texture."

Consistency- fluid
Color- white
Scent-none detected

How I use it:
I pump a small amount on my palm then use the other hand's finger to scoop and massage it to my face. I remove it with a square cotton pad rather than tissue or cotton ball.

Eye makeup can be more of a challenge to remove. When it got to my eyes it did not sting but blurred my vision so I just rinsed it off. Even after I massaged it to my eye area and wiped it off there are still remnants so I dip a cotton bud in the solution and use it to remove stubborn eyeliner and mascara.

Just a warning but I hate glow-y foundations and moisturizers so there has to be irony in the fact that I love Burt’s Bees Radiance Day Lotion. It contains royal jelly so it not only leaves skin super soft but also provides lightweight moisture for daily use with a natural, glowing radiant finish.

You’ll love this stuff!

Two issues with Burt’s Bees Radiance Day Lotion that I have to share but outside of that I freaking love this stuff. Issue 1, SPF…oh god…this contains an SPF 7….I can’t help but wince when I type that. I’d rather they not include any SPF at all. SPF 7? That’s really minimal. The second issue isn’t really an issue for me but sensitive skin users take note this is highly fragranced. It’s a delightful fragrance (I can’t pinpoint it but I think it kinda smells like Ralph) and I quite like it but if you’re sensitive to fragrances in your moisturizers just keep in mind this scent isn’t subtle.

The formula was created to enhance the skin’s natural radiance but it already has a smoothing glowing finish that gives skin a youthful glow. I dislike using it with makeup of any kind as I think the glow it produces can be overkill with too much makeup. I prefer it on a freshly scrubbed fair, out of the shower, and with the barest touch of a cheek stain. It gives my skin such a healthy no makeup glow and that along makes it well worth picking up.

It’s a thinner consistency that absorbs easily into my skin and leaves it delicately hydrated throughout the wear. It’s not heavy and remains weightless on my skin without creasing any excess grease or oil.

It’s kinda my new favorite product of the moment!

Today, I'll be sharing with you this one great product I've been using (and loving).  You know that I have really oily skin that breakout so often.  I can't keep my hands off my face and pricking my zits has got to be one of my favorite hobbies. Good thing there are a lot of acne stuff available that helps dry out pimples or keep whiteheads from developing into pimples.  

Here's one spot treatment that made it to my Holy Grail list:

SNOE Shoo-zit Dip and Dry Acne Drying Lotion

A fast-acting, effective acne spot treatment. Formulated with Purefix-DC, salicylic acid, calamine and other quick-drying ingredients, this product will shrink ugly whiteheads virtually overnight while you sleep. Also great for back acne and breakouts on the chest.  The drying lotion will also take the itch out of mosquito bites fast!

If you heard of Mario Badescu's Drying Lotion, this is a cheaper alternative.  I've used Mario Badescu in the past,  and it does help in shrinking those nasty breakouts overnight (some would take 2-3 days, especially the bigger ones). This works just the same, but costs half the price. 

Same with Mario Badescu, this has two parts: the liquid and the soft, clay part that sits at the bottom

It's easy to use.  Just dip a Q-tip into the mixture and let the end of the q-tip touch the sediment at the bottom.  

Then just dab it onto the pimple.

The sediment looks pinkish (like that of MB's) but when dabbed onto the skin, it turns into white

You can see that they have dried up. The smaller ones dried up overnight while the bigger one took two days.

What I like:

Really helps in drying out pimples faster.  It takes just an overnight for the smaller ones, while it takes 2, 3 days at most for the bigger ones.  

It also works for pimples that are just developing.

Cheaper, it costs Php499..half the price of Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

It's great for those itchy mosquito bites, it totally takes away the itch in just a few hours!

No peeling

Doesn't dry up the skin like most anti-acne stuff 

What I don't like:

Strong scent of alcohol

It stings, just like that of Mario Badescu, but it's a good sign that it's ingredients are seeping into the skin. It also goes away immediately.

The white marks it leaves you once you applied it.  Well, no worries since you only need to apply it at night.  If you live with a wife/husband/partner, you'll look funny but at least you can play connect the dots and have a good time. hahaha!

By the way, don't shake the bottle. The clay part is supposed to stay at the bottom. I don't know why. But that's how it should be.  Use this product right and you'll get good results.  Don't take my word for it though, what works for me may or may not work for you.  I've recommended this to some of my friends and it works for them too.
